“Drawing is how I feel and think” – is one of the first things that I heard coming from Tio Torosyan. And after I’ve seen his drawings & fashion illustrations, I knew it was the perfect contributor for The Fashion Jumper. The first contributor.
So it’s time to start a new chapter in the history of this blog. And TFJ is becoming, slowly but surely, a creative dream, my biggest dream: working with the most creative people I know everyday. So here’s to a new beginning.
Tio Torosyan is a 24 years old creative 2.0 – how I like to call it – that is a creative guy with an insane talent that express himself through using the digital tools as well as the classic ones, combining the two into drawings, sketches, fashion illustrations, logos and all sorts of other magical stuff.
He studied arts in Russia, Armenia and Romania – where he also got his masters degree – and started posting recently his fashion illustrations on Instagram. Tio only draws people he’s inspired by – or photos – so he did illustrations of Chiara Ferragni, Lena Perminova, Sasha Luss and catwalk or campaign drawings from Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Dior and Dolce & Gabbana. He got attention from Cuneyt Akeroglu who reposted his stuff. Also caught the attention of Riccardo Tisci and models like Janice Alida, Lineisy Montero, Chiara and others. And that only happened in a few couple of days so he’s up to a great start.
What’s so great about his drawings is that they all keep a spirit of the original inspiration but always have a unique and deeper view into the life of the characters, they have more emotion – which sometimes models lack in. It’s like finding a story for every single person that appears, giving them more personality, more character. The lines, the bodies, the eyes, everything’s different than what you’d expect from fashion illustrations – we’re used to putting emphasis on the clothes, making long legs and a small head. This guy has another universe in his head. And is going to show it here.
Tio will start posting his illustrations & drawings every week, every Sunday. It will be either photoshootings, clothes/people/make-up/models from catwalk or whatever inspires him and decides to share with the world.
You can FOLLOW HIM on Instagram right here!
So a good start would be to show you the illustrations that he did for The Fashion Jumper.
